Wallenstein Castle and Garden

The splendid palace complex was built in the period 1623–1630. The construction of was the credit of one of the most mighty and richest aristocrats of his time Albrecht von Wallenstein. The original Palace used to stand here, had twenty-three houses, three extensive gardens and the old brickworks. The significant architects, painters, sculptors and craftsmen were involved in the construction of this spectacular piece of work. The palace buildings are very richly decorated, and having murals on the wall and in the ceilings.

 

The outside garden is filled with sculptures, both originals, and some inspired by other famous work.

 

The palace is now the seat of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
