Valley of the Nuns

The story goes: During violent times, there was a group of nuns that fled into the wilderness of a deep valley, almost totally isolated by difficult access. This happened in 1566. The settlement was ideal because the was not visible from the sea, as well as the difficulty of access.

Today there is a road caved into the mountain side. We took a local bus on Friday afternoon. It looked like the driver was late home for dinner, as the trip was "high speed around blind corners". The bus trip ended at the town Corral das Feiras.
