Ushuaia

The sea leg from Punta Areans to Ushauia is about 530 km and runs through a narrow fjord in beween high mountains and glaciers. Ushaia is located in a small area belonging to Argentina, in the otherwise Chilean Southern Terretory. The city has a population of about 60,000 and lies in the heart of the Tierra del Fuego national park. The city played an important role in the 1982 Falkland war, when Argentina invaded the British territory Falkland Islands.
