Tigre is a community in the delta of La Plata, the great river where Buenos Aires is located. Tigre is criss-crossed by canals, carrying commercial shipping, as well as pleasure craft. There are no roads whatsoever. The houses are usually at the waters edge, and many are built on stils to prevent damage at high tide or floods. The waterways are lined with properies, many grand houses, and other more ordinary and apperantly only in part-time use.
