Travel-World Photography
British professional expats travel the world. In Singapore, some stayed at a hotel with the name The Hash House. The Expats formed a running club, called the "Hash House Harriers". The clubs arranged running events that was called the Hash. This movement spread to wherever British expats worked, including Saudi Arabia (and also later to Lebanon, where I also participated).
The Hash took place on Friday afternoons out in the desert far from any settlement. A caravan of 4-wheel cars headed out in the desert. There the women shed their conservatives clothes and put on shorts and tops only. Since it was very hot, drinking stations were arranged beforehand. But in spite of that, people fainted due to the heat and dehydration. Nevertheless, these were very popular and social events.
