The Doge Palace or the Palazzo Ducale, i one of the main landmarks of Venezia. It was built in 1340 and extended and modified in the following centuries. Presently a museum, it consists of fabulously decorated rooms.
It has also an extensive collection of medieval weapons. Connected with the palace, is the prison, accessible via an enclosed bridge across a narrow canal. called The Bridge of Sighs.
