We passed through Damascus on the way to Petra in Jordan.
Damascus has presently a population of 2.5 million out of the 22 million in the country.
We got a chance to see the Damascus Bazar and the Great Mosque, from both are a few pictures.

On the Syrian side, the terrain flattens out and the road improves
