Skagen is located at the very tip of Denmark. At the outmost tip, the North Sea and the Skagerak Sea meet, creating freak waves and a strong current. People are known to have drowned if they lost their footing and were carried away by the current.
The tip - Grenen (the Branch) which is called - is a major \r tourist attraction.
Skagen is also known for an artist colony of painters, catching the magical light at high summer. They were active in 1870-1880 period, creating fantastic paintings. There also a museum at Skagen with a collection from that époque.
