This Part 2 contains pictures of the Cathedral of Sevilla and of the Alcázar - the Royal Palace and its gardens.
The cathedral, actually "Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See", is a huge building with towers and decorations all around. It was completed in the early 16th century, and thus and bypassed Hagia Sophia in size, thus becoming the largest cathedral in the world. Inside, it is 42 m up to the vault, which is supported by pillars more then 2 m wide. It is just awe-inspiring to walk inside between the pillars and the many altars, of witch several are decorated with gold.
The ALcázar - The Royal Castle is equally a fantastic place. It was ordered build in the early 9th century by the caliph of Al-Andaluz - Andalucia in Spanish. It was subsequently rebuilt by a string of Spanish king from mid 13th century and onwards. The wall decorations and tiles are very rich in detail, as well as the variations in motifs and designs. Adjacent to the palace itself is the Royal Gardens, which by itself is a beautiful place.
