San Antonio Real-Castro Marim

San Atonio Real is at the border with Spain, on the border river Guadiana. As with other towns along the coast, means of livelyhood is a combination of fishing and agriculture. The architecture is influenced somewhat by the Spanish. The town has a nice pedestrian area, and has a quiet atmosphere.

Castro Marim is as the name implies, an old fortified town located on a hilltop only 4 km inland. Notable photograpic features are colorful houses on the hill, and a flower park with bright, deep blue tiles, set at the foot of the hill.
