Reykjavik Part 1

Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland, and is by far the largest city with 233 000 inhabitants in the metro area. Being located in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean at latitude 64 degrees North, the weather is constantly changing, also during the course of a day.

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan and Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev met for a forty-eight-hour summit in Reykjavik. The effect of this meeting was the end of Cold War.

A dominating sight in Reykjavik is Hallgrimskirkja, a modern and serene church in the middle of the city.

Reykjavik - Part 1 contains pictures from the central city, Hallgrimskirkja and the view from its tower, plus some city life.
