Pompei

Pompei was completely destroyed by an volcanic eruption from Mount Vesuv in the year 79. Vesuv is presently 1280 m high, snd is located only 4-5 km from Pompei.

At the time of the eruption, Pompei was a bustling city with a population of around 20,000 at the time of its destruction. Walking the streets today, you see a well organized city with nice houses. Inside, there are still the original murals on the walls.
