Perge was one of the most important cities of the area. It is believed to have been established in the 12 th-13 th century BC. during the course of history, many rulers dominated, and in 334 BC it was conquered by Alexander the Great. The most important period was in the 2 nd-3 rd century under Roman rule. Thus, the present ruins carry the mark of the Roman period.
