Pera Tower

Pera Tower, also known as the Galata Tower, was built as a watchtower at the highest point of the  walls of Galata, an old city fortress. The tower was destroyd during the Crusades, and rebuilt in 1348. The tower is 67 m tall, and has a diameter of 16.5 m at the base. Pera Tower provides a very nice overlook over a large part of Istanbul. Today, the tower is a museum with a restaurant on the top floor.
