Olhao-Tavira

Olhao and Tavira are two towns East of Faro on the coast. Olhao bases it's existence on the fishing industry. The canning industry in Algarve started here. As a visitor, the tiled building catches your eyes.

Tavira towards the East, is concidered one of the most charming towns in the Algarve. Both are protected from the ocean by the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, an area with long sandbanks and mud flats.

In Tavira, a bridge across Gilao river built by the Romans, is still in daily use.
