In the middle of Old Town, is the large market square of unusual size of any old city, actually 40 000 m2. The square is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church, as well as a number of very stately and superbly decorated large houses.
