Travel-World Photography
The images are from a visit to the North Island in 2001. Our base was Auckland, having a population of 1.6 million, out of 5 million in the whole country. But there are 26 million sheep!
The original inhabitants are of the maori tribe, having migrated across the Pacific around year 1300. Europeans discovered the island in 1642. However, the maori culture is still very strong.
The images are taken with an Olympus 5 Mpixel camera, at the early time of digital photography. Both the
resolution and other performance factors do not live up to the standards of today.
