Mexico City

I went on a business trip to a company in the vicinity of Mexico City in 1978. While there, I had an opportunity to visit the pyramids at Teotihuacán.

Mexico City is located in a kind of a bowl in the terrain at an elevation of 2240 m, in between higher mountains and volcanoes. This fact contribute to high temperatures during the summer time, and sometimes flooding during the rainy season. When we arrived by plane, the smog was very visible. The city has a population of about 9.2 million.

We stayed at a very modern high-rise hotel, where all signs were in symbols only. In the surrounding city, we saw a lot of large graffiti art on bulding surfaces, as well large buildings decorated in stylized Aztec art.
