Lima is the capital of Peru with a population of 33 million. Being the capital, it has many official buildings from the Spanish period.
We had only a one-day stop in Lima, with a sightseeing trip and a visit to the Gold Museum, which surpringly is a private enterprise, and where photography was forbidden.
