Lake Pillsbury is a lake in the Lake County in Northern California. The lake was formed as part of a hydro-electric power project. The lake is at an elevation of 550 m, and is a popular recreation area for picnicking, fishing, swimming, sailing, power-boating, and hiking.
Vi visited the lake in June 1967, just a year after arriving in the US. An adjacent area had been burned by a large forest fire. The trees were mostly standing, but the underbrush and branches were to some extent burnt out. The area gave us a gloomy feeling!
