Gozo is the other island in the Malta group, having an area of 67 km2 and a population of about 34.000. It is located north-west of Malta proper at a distance of a few kilometer. There is a regular ferry service between the island.
The topography is similar to Malta. and has a small amount of agriculture. Of notable interest is the large fort located on a hill, presiding over the land areas all around.
Also, Gozo is rich in historic locations such as the Ġgantija temples, which, along with the other Megalithic Temples of Malta, are amongst the world's oldest free-standing structures.
