Gozo is the other island in the Malta group, having an area of 67 km2 and a population of about 34.000. It is located north-west of Malta proper at a distance of a few kilometer. There is a regular ferry service between the island.
The topography is similar to Malta. and has a small amount of agriculture. Of notable interest is the large fort located on a hill, presiding over the land areas all around.
Also, Gozo is rich in historic locations such as the Ä gantija temples, which, along with the other Megalithic Temples of Malta, are amongst the world's oldest free-standing structures.
