Faro

Faro is the largest costal city on the Algarve, with a population of about 60.000. It is located in the Ria Formosa delta, having shallow waters, and protected by a long sand bar with very nice beaches. Thus, Faro does nor have any serious commercial habor, but is an international trading center, non the less. The international airport is served my many airlines. As most other cities and towns, it does have an history dating back to the Moors, as well as earlier periods.
