Ceramic products may be seen all over Istanbul (as well as most Mediterranean countries). But we happened to visit a specialty ceramic shop. This carried products of very high quality and many pieces were unique by themselves.
At first, only a younger man acted as a salesman. He was for a period quite aggressive. Then the owner walked in the door, and scolded the younger man for his sales technique. We ended up sitting together on the floor, drinking tea for a long time, and having a very good time. And yes, we purchased a nice vase, with motives from a military expedition up the Balkans!
