Aker Brygge is a residential development on the site of the former Aker Ship Yard. The development has turned into the most expensive and prestigious housing in Oslo, as it is located right on the waterfront. It has become a cultural center, and has restaurants and expensive shops right where people live.
At the time these pictures were taken, a large exhibition of sculptures were placed along the waterfront for everybody to enjoy. Since then, the exhibition has been removed, but many of the sculptures remain.
Since the exhibition is on the waterfront, the theme of many of the sculptures is related to the sea.
