The Falkand Islands is located 1500 km from Argentina, roughly North-East of Cape Horn. The population is only 3.500, who claim to be British. The Islands are a selfgoverning territory under British rule. But the distance from UK 13.000 km, so Argentina consider the islands to be theirs. The discovery of offshore oil led in turn to the Falkland War in 1982 between to two countries.
